Handlery Hotel San Diego Reviews

“To have every guest not question why they stayed here, but to question why they didn’t stay here before”

The words of Handlery Hotels founder Harry Handlery hold as true today as they did when he opened his very first Handlery Hotel in 1928. Dedicated to welcoming each guest as we would a family member, our staff prides itself on offering an unparalleled level of personalized service that is professional yet also warm and genuine.

  • So AccommodatingI can't begin to tell you how grateful we are to the staff and mgmt. Every person we came into contact with was nice and friendly but so professionally motivated. I am a Senior Property Manager so I notice these things: a smile in the voice on the phone, a feeling as a guest that anything you need within their means, understanding extenuating circumstances and thinking out of the box to accommodate! The room was inviting, clean and cheerful. The pool and jacuzzi were clean and wonderful. Grandkids visited us and had a ball. Who couldn't in that amazing pool! Wish we could stay longer! Boo Hoo

I would rate 4.5 if it was an option! Not a 5 just due to $14 parking fee and no other alternative. But it seems that is status quo here on Hotel Circle!

We will guide all visitors to this hotel and we have lots of visitors from out of town!

  • “Great place to stay”

Loved the location as we visited the zoo, had dinner in Old Town, went to the Gaslamp Quarter, and walked on the beach. Hotel was close to all of this! We had balcony room which looked over some beautiful palms.

  • “Great place to stay”

Loved the location as we visited the zoo, had dinner in Old Town, went to the Gaslamp Quarter, and walked on the beach. Hotel was close to all of this! We had balcony room which looked over some beautiful palms. Noticed not all balconies had views - some were over parking lot. The hotel is close to the freeway so access was convenient but was also very quiet. We got a package deal that included parking and breakfast. The breakfast buffet had fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, muffins, and juice. Beds were small - double size but very comfortable with nice sheets and lots of pillows. Towels also were high quality. Would have loved to try the pool but it was only open until 9:00 and we were not back that early. All in all a very nice hotel - I would stay again if I could get the same price deal!

Thanks JEFF, you made us feel like at home Regards from NY Carmen & Kelvin
